Ch 9/12 Podcast Assignment (GS)

  • Submitting a text entry box, a media recording, or a file upload

This week’s assignment is to complete one of the following based on topics from Chapter 9 and 12.

  1. Develop your own podcast for your company on the following choices (1-3) or the topics below. Please save as an MP3 or MP4 file. AudacityLinks to an external site. is a free program you may want to use to create your podcast and then save as a MP3 or MP4 file. Or you can create a youtube video. Don’t know how to create a youtube video? Google it – there some great how to videos: Part 1 and Part 2 of How to create a youtube video from 2011 – is good.
  2. Submit a written document (could be the outline or script of your podcast) and a reference list. You may use powerpoint if that is easier to present from.

Choose one of the 3 ways to complete this assignment:

  1. Develop a new program for your company on one of the topics.
  2. Develop new processes/guidelines to a program on one of the topics exists in your company. You will need to submit your company’s current program so I can assess the direction and changes you have made.
  3. You are starting a hospitality company and want to develop a corporate culture from Day One. Describe this culture and how it will be intertwined through the recruitment, interviewing, selection, orientation, training, and performance evaluation processes. Give an example of how you will present this culture in Employee Orientation.

Post your topic selection to the Ch 9/12 Podcast discussion by Tuesday of Week 6 at noon. I will confirm you choice by 5 pm. Your assignment is due Saturday of Week 6.

I am including a podcast on each of the topics below – most of them are radio broadcasts. The links are attached here and the audio files will be on the instructions to the Podcast #4 assignment. There are a lot of topics covered in Chapters 9 and 12. If there is a different topic you are interested in than the ones I have presented – you will need to get that topic okayed by me before you start your assignment.
